Mesa, AZ - Jaclyn LaHa of Pleasanton, California, leads the first Under Armour / Albane Valenzuela Girls Invitational at 5-under-par 66. The 2023 graduate has a one-stroke lead on a close all-girls leaderboard.

The first Under Armour / Albane Valenzuela Girls Invitational got started on Thursday at Longbow Golf Club. The all-girls 72-player field features 27 college commits, 32 players ranked in the top-100 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings and 46 past AJGA champions.

The field coming from 18 different states and six countries currently has 22 girls at even-par or better after the first round.

LaHa opened the day with two quick birdies on hole nos. 1 and 2. A bogey on hole six set her back to one-under. LaHa closed out the front-nine with birdies on Nos. 8 and 9 to move to 3-under. A clean card on the back with birdies on Nos. 15 and 18 moved LaHa to her first round total of 5-under-par 66.

My favorite part of playing this course are the greens. The greens are rolling really nicely this week. I putted really well today which was nice because I haven't putted well in a tournament in a while. The hole seemed a lot bigger to me today because I was sinking putts.

The University of Virginia verbal commit is currently No. 18 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and looking for her first AJGA invitational win.

One stroke behind LaHa three players shared second at 4-under-par 67 including Chloe Lam of Fountain Valley, California, Rianne Malixi of (Philippines) San Bernardino, California, and Alice Ziyi Zhao of (China) Irvine, California. The three combined for 16 birdies on the day.

Ailis Tribolet of Chandler, Arizona, and Julia Misemer of Overland Park, Kansas, are two strokes off the lead at 3-under-par 68.

The inaugural invitational continues tomorrow with tee times from 7 to 8:50 a.m. off Longbow Golf Club's Nos. 1 and 10 tees.
