Mesa, AZ - Jaclyn LaHa of Pleasanton, California, maintains the lead of the first Under Armour / Albane Valenzuela Girls Invitational at 9-under-par 133.
The University of Virginia commit carded a 4-under-par 67 second round to hold the lead.
The first Under Armour / Albane Valenzuela Girls Invitational officially got started yesterday at Longbow Golf Club. The all-girls 72-player field features 27 college commits, 32 players ranked in the top-100 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings and 46 past AJGA champions.
The field coming from 18 different states and six countries currently has eight girls at even-par or better after the second round.
LaHa continued her dominant play on Saturday starting off of No. 10. The rising senior again posted a bogey-free card on the back-nine holes. Today birdieing hole Nos. 11, 15 and 18. LaHa made the turn and carded her fourth birdie of the day at hole No. 1. A bogey at No. 2 set her back, but the No. 18 ranked player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings closed the day with a birdie on No. 8 to move to 4-under.
My favorite part of today was the par 5's. They were all so much fun to play today. I think I birdied all the par 5's on the golf course which contributed to it. It is always fun when you can reach a par 5 and have a chance for eagle.
Frances Kim of Rolling Hills Estates, California, shot the low round of the day at 7-under-par 64. The 2023 graduate who shot a 2-over-par 73 in round one flipped the switch Saturday.
