Lake Worth, FL - The UNIQLO / Adam Scott Junior Championship provides an opportunity for youth golfers worldwide to compete in a high-level tournament with players from all across the world. International players, Sophie Eppelstun of Surf Beach, Australia, and Max Moring of Berwick, Australia, bring their talents to Palm Beach on a sponsors exemption.

Eppelstun and Moring are both competing in their first AJGA event. Since arriving to the tournament, they have both created new memories as they immerse themselves in American culture and adjust to playing in a different country.

Moring and Eppelstun have noticed differences between The Falls Club of the Palm Beaches and course back in their homeland. The juniors have noticed a difference in the type of grass used at this specific course, and have devised different strategies to playing golf in Florida.

It's nice to play on different surfaces because you're going to have to learn to eventually.
Max Moring

Even though getting accustomed to the American greens takes a little time, both golfers are comfortable in a competitive setting. The Aussies have very impressive golf resumes to date. Eppelstun recently won both the 2024 New South Wales (NSW) Women's Cup and the 2024 NSW Champions of Champions. Moring has 15 top-ten finishes to date and recently won the 2024 NextGen Amateur Tour Lonsdale Links.

Moring and Eppelstun both value this event and the experience especially because of the tournament host. As one of Australia's most decorated golfer, Adam Scott's influence and accomplishments inspires the two young Australian golfers.

Adam Scott is a role model for me. He's someone I really look up to.
Max Moring

Even though golf is the main priority for their trip across the seas, the juniors want to experience the American culture as much as possible. From foods to customs to American sports, the Aussies are trying as many different things as possible.

We really want to get some like lollies...the candy. Maybe see the beach, see what the beach is like compared to back home.
Sohpie Eppelstun

Epplestun and Moring are using this tournament as a stepping stone in their junior golf careers. Eppelstun is verbally committed to the Ohio State University to continue her golf career in the states. Moring will continue to play in Australia and weigh his options for the future.
