The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) is set to return to the Lone Star State for the Victoria Texas Preview, scheduled for April 9–12, 2026, at Riverside Golf Course. Title-sponsored by Discover Victoria Texas, the 54-hole stroke play event will bring together 96 of the top junior golfers from across the country.

Discover Victoria Texas will serve as the title sponsor of the tournament. Discover Victoria Texas, the official destination marketing organization for the city of Victoria, positions the region as a premier spot for tourism, meetings and sporting events. By supporting the Victoria Texas Preview, the organization attracts visitors and generates economic impact for local hotels, restaurants and small businesses. The partnership with the AJGA highlights Victoria’s hospitality, community pride and ability to host national-level competitions.

“Events like this show our local juniors what’s possible. Seeing elite players compete on their home course can be a powerful motivator. It reinforces the importance of junior programs, access to quality facilities, and community support in developing the next generation of golfers. The tournament also highlights the strong partnership between Riverside Golf Course, City of Victoria, volunteers, and the AJGA in creating opportunities that extend beyond the golf course. We’re proud to be a part of something that supports junior golf, strengthens community pride, and brings people together through sport.”
Jerry Ortiz, Sport Tourism/Recreation Supervisor

Riverside Golf Course traces its roots back to the mid-20th century, when noted Texas golf course architect Ralph Plummer designed the original 18-hole layout, which opened for play in 1953. Today, the par-72 course challenges players with tree-lined corridors, water features and demanding approach shots. Situated along the Guadalupe River, the course blends competitive golf with a scenic, park-like setting that remains a centerpiece of the Victoria community.

“Riverside Golf Course is proud to host the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) this April, welcoming top junior golfers from across the region and beyond to compete in one of junior golf’s premier tours. Hosting an AJGA tournament reflects Riverside Golf Course’s ongoing commitment to junior golf development and growing the game at the grassroots level. The event provides young athletes with a nationally recognized competitive platform while inspiring local junior golfers to pursue the sport at a higher level.”
Ben Lake, Head Golf Professional at Riverside Golf Course

As part of the AJGA Preview Series, this event is designed specifically for AJGA members who have not yet played or been accepted into an AJGA tournament. It provides emerging junior golfers ages 12-19 with a valuable platform to gain competitive experience, build Performance Based Entry status, and earn exposure ahead of major summer events in the Open and Junior All-Star Series.
