Greensboro, N.C. - Jessy Huebner of Port St. Lucie, Florida, wasted no time turning last year’s near-miss into momentum, surging into the solo lead after round two with a commanding 10-under-par 130 tally.

With temperatures holding in the mid-70s until the close of play, competitors faced mostly cloudy skies with a brief spell of light rain as they made their way around the course. Despite the slightly damp conditions, players continued to find scoring opportunities, with 11 finishing the round under par

This marks the 18th playing of the Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey and the tournament’s 14th consecutive year at the Donald Ross-designed Sedgefield Country Club.

Huebner began the round in second place and quickly made his presence felt with a steady, bogey-free front nine. He carded three birdies on the outward half, including back-to-back gains on Nos. 7 and 8, to turn in 3-under-par 32.

He carried that momentum onto the back nine, staying composed while adding three more birdies. A late bogey on No. 17 was his only blemish. Huebner closed with a 2-under-par 33 on the back nine to sign for a 5-under-par 65, moving to 10-under-par 130 for the tournament.

“I need to stick to the game plan, just keep doing the same thing, not think too much about the score, and just try to put up a good score tomorrow.”
Jessy Huebner

The 2027 graduate is No. 5 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Entering the day tied for third, Hull made a strong push up the leaderboard, fueled by a bogey-free front nine and six birdies overall, showcasing both consistency and control throughout the round.

In pursuit of his first AJGA victory, the University of California, Los Angeles commit continues to make a name for himself on the course. He got off to a steady start with birdies on the 526-yard par-5 No. 5 and the 217-yard par-3 No. 7, setting the tone early. Down the stretch, Hull elevated his play even further, stringing together three consecutive birdies on Nos. 15 through 17 to cap off an impressive charge and solidify his position near the top of the leaderboard.

Tied for third at 7-under-par are Mingbo Jiang of Orlando, Florida, and Lucas Gimenez of Jacksonville, Florida. Jiang, who entered the tournament ranked No. 44 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, made a significant move up the leaderboard after beginning the day tied for 13th. He delivered an impressive round highlighted by eight birdies and just one bogey, climbing 10 spots with a strong, composed performance.

Gimenez, ranked No. 57 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, built momentum as the round progressed. After recording a birdie on the front nine, he found his rhythm on the back, starting with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 11 and 12.
