The 2026 RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Classic returns to Bethpage Black for the fifth consecutive year as the AJGA's only true match play event. A field of 64 juniors, including 32 boys and 32 girls, will compete over four days for the opportunity to add their names to one of the most distinguished lists of champions in junior golf.
Since its inception in 1978, the RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Classic has established itself as one of the AJGA's premier championships. Over the years, the event has been hosted at several renowned venues, including Liberty National Golf Club, PGA National Resort, Sea Island Golf Club, Innisbrook Resort and Echo Lake Country Club.
That history is reflected in the championship's impressive roster of winners. Boys Division champions include Tiger Woods, Trevor Immelman, Stewart Cink, Brian Harman, Morgan Hoffmann and Matthew NeSmith. Notable Girls Division champions include Vicki Goetze, Grace Park, Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, Ariya Jutanugarn and Sierra Brooks.
Tournament Format
Competition is divided into Boys and Girls divisions, with each division consisting of eight pools labeled A through H. Players are seeded No. 1 through No. 32 based on the Rolex AJGA Rankings as of June 16, 2026. Those seeds determine pool placement and the path through match play.
Pool play begins Tuesday, June 23, with each player competing in three round robin matches within their respective pool. The player who earns the most points in each pool will advance to bracket play.
Pool play will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, with tiebreakers scheduled for Wednesday afternoon if necessary. The quarterfinals begin Thursday morning, followed by the semifinals that afternoon. The championship and consolation matches will conclude the tournament on Friday.

About Bethpage State Park Golf Courses - Black Course
In 2022, the move of the RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Classic to Bethpage Black marked the first time the event has been played on a public course. The Black Course is steeped in tradition, having hosted three major championships, two FedEx Cup Playoff events, and the 2025 Ryder Cup.
Bethpage Black made its major championship debut in 2002 with the U.S. Open, where a young Tiger Woods, a former RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Classic champion, captured his second U.S. Open title. The course returned to the national stage in 2009 when AJGA alumnus Lucas Glover won the U.S. Open, followed by The Barclays FedEx Cup Playoff events in 2012 and 2016.
In 2019, AJGA alumnus Brooks Koepka claimed victory at the PGA Championship, as Bethpage Black once again cemented its place among golf’s most demanding championship venues. Most recently, the course hosted the 2025 Ryder Cup, further adding to its legacy on the global stage.
