A look at your most recent champions from last weekend's AJGA events.

Nicholas Dunlap of Huntsville, Alabama, won the Polo Division of the 42nd Polo Golf Junior Classic at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey. In the championship match, Dunlap defeated Ben James in 20 holes to capture his first AJGA win and Invitational win. Over the four days of play, the University of Alabama golf commit went 6-0 in match play. Dunlap now sits at No. 3 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Kiara Romero of San Jose, California, won the Liberty Division after going 6-0 in match play throughout the tournament. She defeated Katie Li of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, 2-up in their championship match. This was also Romero's first AJGA win and Invitational win. Romero is currently No. 23 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

At the Harold Varner III Foundation Junior All-Star , Maria Jose Marin Negrete of (Colombia) Cali, Valle, Colombia, claimed her first AJGA title by 10 strokes in the Girls Division. She shot a 6-under-par 204 and led the Girls Division with 13 birdies on the week. Negrete also earned low first and second round honors. This was Negrete's first AJGA tournament appearance.

Will Hartman of Marvin, North Carolina, won the Boys Division after a one-hole playoff to claim his first AJGA tournament victory. Hartman shot rounds of 71-67-73 for a tournament total of 1-over-par 211. He also totaled 11 birdies on the week. The class of 2025 graduate tied for low second round honors after shooting a 3-under-par 67.

Jiyu Han of Cedar Park, Texas, claimed her first AJGA career victory at the C.T. Pan Junior Championship at The Clubs of Kingwood in Kingwood, Texas. Han shot a tournament total of 1-over-par 217 and had 11 birdies on the week. She also earned low final round honors with a 2-under-par 70.

In the Boys Division, Kristoffer Kuvaas of (Norway) Houston, Texas, also claimed his first AJGA tournament victory after shooting a tournament total of 9-under-par 207. Kuvaas carded two eagles on the week and shot all three rounds under par. His highest previous AJGA tournament finish in 2021 was T2 at the AJGA Lake Las Vegas Junior. Kuvaas now sits at No. 90 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

At the AJGA Huntsville Junior , Surapa Janthamunee of (Thailand) Phuket, Thailand, won the Girls Division to claim her first AJGA title. Janthamunee was the only junior in the Girls Division to finish under par with a tournament total of 2-under-par 211. She carded 13 birdies on the week. This was also her first AJGA tournament appearance.

Matthew Foster Champ Gear

Matthew Foster of Dallas, Texas, won the Boys Division to claim his first AJGA tournament victory. Foster shot rounds of 66-71-68 for a tournament total of 8-under-par 205. He carded 15 birdies and one eagle on the week and shot even-par or better during all three rounds. Foster finished off the week with a bogey-free back nine during the final round.

Kary Hollenbaugh of New Albany, Ohio, won the Girls Division of the Coca-Cola Junior Championship at Boyne Highlands at Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs, Michigan. This was Hollenbaugh's second AJGA victory of 2021. She was also the champion at the Memorial Junior. Hollenbaugh shot a tournament total of 3-over-par 219 and carded eight birdies on the week. The Ohio State University commit now sits at No. 91 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

PJ Maybank of Cheboygan, Michigan, won the Boys Division after a two hole playoff for his first career AJGA win. Maybank shot a tournament total of 2-under-par 212, which included 13 birdies on the week and five in the final round. He overcame a six-stroke deficit at the beginning of the final round to win.

At the Circle K Junior Championship hosted by Otter Creek , Charlene Chung of Happy Valley, Hong Kong, captured her first AJGA victory after a four-hole sudden death playoff. Chung shot a tournament total of 2-under-par 142 and carded six birdies on the week. This was her first top-3 tournament finish. She is also the first AJGA champion from Hong Kong.

In the Boys Division, Camden Smith of Windermere, Florida, won with a tournament total score of 6-under-par 138. This was Smith's first AJGA tournament victory. He was the only player in the field to finish with a score under par and won the Boys Division by six strokes.

Asterisk Talley Girls Division Champion-AJGA Junior at San Jose Presented by Live View Sports-2021.JPG

Asterisk Talley of Chowchilla, California, won the AJGA Junior at San Jose presented by Live View Sports at San Jose Country Club in San Jose, California. This was Talley's first AJGA appearance and first AJGA tournament victory. She shot rounds of 70-70-69 for a tournament total of 1-under-par 209. Talley carded eight birdies on the week and was the only player in the Girls Division to finish the tournament with a score under par.

Aidan Tran of Fresno, California, won the Boys Division with a tournament total of 16-under-par 194. Tran shot rounds of 65-64-65 to capture his third career AJGA victory. He carded 20 birdies on the week to help him win by 10 strokes. The Georgia Tech verbal commit now sits at No. 57 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.
