What is the Day in a Life Program?
The Day in a Life Program offers young participants an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience of golf tournament operations with the AJGA. Activities include:
Welcoming and Orientation: Participants meet an AJGA Staff Member and learn about the history of the AJGA.
Staff Introduction: Participants meet AJGA staff and learn about their roles.
Mentoring Experience: Each participant will join an AJGA staff member in their golf cart and shadow them throughout their day.
Golf Course Setup: Participants gain insights into course setup and marking.
Starting: Participants observe and have the opportunity to start groups of players.
Rules Officiating: Participants accompany staff for 9-18 holes, learn about rules, talk on the radio, and assist with the AJGA’s pace of play system.
Scoring: Participants observe scoring and assist with post-tournament round responsibilities.
Departure: Participants will receive an AJGA gift.

Who can participate? Are there any age restrictions?
The program is open to all youth individuals interested in learning more about golf and exploring career opportunities in the industry. While the average age of participants is 12-18 years old, all ages are welcome, and there are no specific age restrictions.

Is there any cost to participate?
No! There is no cost to participate in the Day in a Life program. Participation is free for all eligible youth who register.

What is the duration of the program?
The Day in a Life Program runs for approximately 5 hours per day. Typically, the event starts in the morning and ends in the afternoon. Exact start and end times will vary slightly by event. Please expect to receive an exact schedule from your event's organizers after registration.

Can participants choose which days to attend?
Yes! Participants have the flexibility to choose which days to attend the program. Because AJGA tournaments are multi-day events, Day in a Life participants can choose to attend one or more days based on preference and availability. Please contact the AJGA or the Day in a Life coordinators for your specific event for options.

Can parents or guardians accompany the participants during the program?
Yes, parents or guardians are welcome to stay, or drop off their participants. They may also choose to watch the AJGA tournament if they prefer.

Will lunch and refreshments be provided?
Yes, all participants will receive a meal during the day. Complimentary refreshments are easily accessible on the golf course.
