Emma McMyler of San Antonio, Texas, held off a talented field to win the 2022 South Atlantic Amateur Golf Championship (The Sally). The Xavier sophomore opened the four-day tournament with an even-par 72, which left her three strokes back of current AJGA senior Yunxuan (Michelle) Zhang. McMyler climbed closer to Zhang after carding a 2-under-par 70 in the second round. At the midway point of The Sally, Zhang maintained a two shot lead over McMyler.

McMyler ascended into the lead following another 2-under-par 70 on day three. With Zhang posting a 2-over-par 74 in the third round, McMyler was now in the driver's seat entering the final day of The Sally. Despite playing her worst round of the week, a 3-over-par 75, McMyler fought hard at the end to hold off Zhang and secure the one shot win at 1-under-par 287.

In her three-year AJGA career, McMyler competed in six tournaments and four qualifiers. Her best finish was second at the 2020 AJGA Junior at River Crossing.
