The American Junior Golf Association announced it will be making additional membership tools available to directly address difficulties with college golf recruiting because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to providing a platform for junior golfers to showcase their skills at AJGA events which resume on June 8, technology will boost additional mission-oriented and impactful benefits to members.

All AJGA Junior Plus members , ACE Grant Recipients and active Leadership Links participants can now share a new recruiting video in the AJGA Player Center. Based on feedback received from coaches, videos will include a brief self-introduction as well as recent on-course play with the goal to showcase a junior golfer’s personality and playing ability.

Videos will be available in the Coaches Corner, and the AJGA will regularly distribute updates to its more than 1,200 college coaching members through our partnership with the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

We believe this new benefit will help everyone: members can gain additional, valuable exposure to college coaches and coaches around the country can use technology in a time of recruiting uncertainty,” said Chief Operating Officer, Mark Oskarson. “Despite the challenges we all face, we are constantly striving to find new ways of fulfilling our mission and servicing our members.”

The AJGA will also implement Flightscope technology at all 2020 events with swing videos featuring new Mevo+ data points including clubhead speed, launch angle, smash factor and distance. Videos and analytics will be shared with members and college coaches and made available in the AJGA Player Center and ACDS Coaches Corner.

Because of financial cutbacks, NCAA regulations and travel restrictions, college coaches have limited recruiting options. New recruiting and membership tools seek to help junior golfers maintain the exposure needed to earn a college golf scholarship and serve coaches with a continued platform for recruiting.
