Murphy has led contact with the AJGA during the AJGA Preview at Webster tournament for the past two years. In that time, Murphy showed her outstanding kindness and care for others around her all while helping to lead the charge at Webster.

Hosting the AJGA Preview for the last two years was a privilege for myself, our members, and our entire staff at Webster Golf Club.

During the AJGA Preview at Webster, Murphy donated meals to all staff during tournament rounds. Including offering interns to eat for free the whole week. As well as helping set up food and beverage as needed for the tournament.

Murphy not only helped with the food and beverage at Webster, but much more. Murphy helped raise $8,250 in addition to donating $1,000 personally and $1,000 from the club.

Golf is not a job to Debby; it's a passion. She puts so much attention and care into lessons with her students. Debby wants to see her students succeed by helping them understand their own game. The commitment Debby has shown into growing the game of golf through young players is truly special.

The four-year veteran at Webster became a huge factor for the players. Murphy allowed players to practice as much as they wanted before the tournament and gave players full access to their simulator facilities.

Murphy ended the 2023 AJGA Preview at Webster with a exciting treat, purchasing fireworks, food trucks and so much more out of her own pocket for the Webster Jamboree. All while donating gifts for competitions held during the jamboree.

I have always felt a responsibility for coaching and guiding young players and I’m extremely grateful for how much junior golf has shaped and enhanced my career. I am honored and humbled to have been recognized as the AJGA Golf Professional of the Year.
