Even in the waning days of his junior golf career, John Creamean continues to give back to causes close to him.
Creamean, a 2024 high school graduate from Winnetka, Illinois, has been a participant in the AJGA's Leadership Links program for several years. Being a participant in the program has led him to raise over $1,200 for causes such as The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Illinois Junior Golf Association and more. He was also a participant in this year’s Junior Chicago Cup.
Creamean personally knows individuals dealing with cystic fibrosis and has been playing Illinois Junior Golf Association events for about eight years. “It’s great doing charity work for great causes,” he said. “I see that there are a lot of charity programs around AJGA that do the same thing.”
Having been in the program for three years, Creamean encourages others to do the same. “It’s a great time, you’re surrounded by great people that you’ve probably spent a lot of junior golf events with, and it’s always fun to do.”
Creamean is hopeful to see additional fundraising efforts from just about anyone involved with the game. “Even people that are just getting into golf,” he said. “I hope to bring them into the charity to just plan and have a great time.”
