UNIQLO and Adam Scott to host AJGA tournament

UNIQLO continues mission to grow golf at the youth level

December 1, 2021, New York, New York Global apparel retailer UNIQLO today announces it has concluded a sponsorship agreement with the American Junior Golf Association, which will hold the UNIQLO Adam Scott Junior Golf Championship at the River Ridge Golf Club in Los Angeles, from February 18 through 21 next year. This tournament with the highly regarded Australian pro golfer and UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador is part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to sustainable social progress through youth development initiatives.

In a cross-continental golfing collaboration, The American Junior Golf Association, Japan Golf Association, and Golf Australia will select a total of 78 members, aged 12 through 18, to join and compete in the tournament. As part of the tournament program, Adam Scott will host a special discussion with participants, and will also run a golf clinic for the junior players.

Speaking of today’s announcement, Mr Scott said, “It is a great honor to host such a wonderful tournament with UNIQLO, which we have been working with for many years. When I was a junior player, I learned not only the fun of playing golf, but also about other important things in life, such as honesty and respect. Together with UNIQLO, we have created a tournament we hope will be a valuable learning opportunity for young people.”

Jason Etzen, Chief Business Officer of the American Junior Golf Association, said, “We are thrilled to welcome UNIQLO and Adam Scott, who have the vision to support our members in their mission to gain exposure for college golf scholarships. This event will immediately become a can’t-miss championship among our worldwide membership.”
