For the 36th year in-a-row, the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) will host the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club. The event runs from June 13 – 16 and will feature 72 of the world’s best junior golfers. Coldwell Banker has played an integral role in the junior golf tournament’s success over the years. Longtime Coldwell Banker agent Bob Apple jump-started the real estate company’s tournament involvement by providing local agents on-site promotional opportunities on-site in exchange for tournament support. As Apple’s passion for the tournament grew stronger, Coldwell Banker corporate was inspired to invest in golf’s next generation. Today, the Steve and Geri Downs Real Estate Team spearheads Coldwell Banker’s AJGA support. With their support, the AJGA can provide special experiences for tournament players such as a Championship Dinner, champion’s Poppies Pond jump, organic juice bars, ice cream bars, champion robes and a special Care for the Course program designed to give back to Mission Hills Country Club. "We at Coldwell Banker are so pleased to continue our support of the AJGA,” said the Steve and Geri Downs Real Estate Team. “This event showcases some of the best young golfers in the world and we are honored to be part of it.” While continuing to provide promotional opportunities to local agents, Coldwell Banker also sponsors the Shooting Star Award. The Shooting Star Award is peer-voted and given to a player in the tournament field that best displays character and integrity on the golf course. The 2017 ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior will feature 21 college commits, 13 AJGA champions and two Rolex Junior All-Americans. Past champions of the tournament include Kellee Booth, Grace Park, Alison Lee, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Patrick Cantlay.
