The 2025 Dallas Cup, a Cobra PUMA Golf State Cup Series event, wrapped up this past weekend at Brookhaven Country Club, leaving a lasting impact on junior golfers and the local community. The annual tournament, hosted by the American Junior Golf Association’s (AJGA) foundation team, brought together top junior talent while also fostering connections with military veterans and Special Olympics golfers through a unique junior-am event. More than just a golf event, the Dallas Cup was an opportunity for players to develop their skills, forge lasting relationships and give back to the community. In total, 28 junior golfers raised over $73,000, benefiting the Osteosarcoma Institute, First Tee of Greater Dallas Area and the AJGA’s Liberty National ACE Grant.

The AJGA’s Liberty National ACE Grant and Leadership Links program are two initiatives designed to make competitive junior golf more accessible and impactful. The Liberty National ACE Grant provides financial assistance to junior golfers who may not have the resources to compete at the national level, ensuring that financial barriers do not stand in the way of aspiring collegiate and professional players. Leadership Links is a service-oriented program that empowers juniors to give back to their communities by raising funds for charities of their choice while also supporting the AJGA’s initiatives. Together, these programs help develop well-rounded young golfers who excel not only on the course but also as leaders committed to making a difference.

This year’s event is made possible through the unwavering dedication of event host David Pyle, a Leadership Links participant. Pyle is from McKinney, Texas, and is in the class of 2028. At just 16 years old, Pyle held meetings with multiple CEOs for corporate sponsorships. His efforts have helped raise over $30,000 in support of the tournament. His commitment ensures that the Dallas Cup continues to thrive, providing a first-class experience for participants and making a lasting impact both on and off the course.

Beyond the competition, the Dallas Cup offered a unique blend of team-building activities and social events to enhance the player experience. Participants engaged in activities such as Group Dynamix, a team-based event focused on leadership and collaboration, and a banquet at Brookhaven Country Club where they celebrated their achievements and connected with fellow players, sponsors, and supporters. To cap off the weekend, players competed in a pickleball tournament and finished the day with an interactive virtual reality gaming experience.
