2019 ANA Junior Inspiration Tournament Information

FORMAT:

The tournament is 54 holes of stroke play. The schedule is as follows:

  • 36 holes, Saturday, March 30 on Mission Hills Country Club – Pete Dye Challenge Course
  • 18 holes, Sunday, March 31 on Mission Hills Country Club – Dinah Shore Tournament Course
  • During Sunday’s final round, two junior girls will play with one LPGA Legend (see below)
  • The ANA Junior Inspiration Champion will receive an exemption into the ANA INSPIRATION

FINAL ROUND WITH LPGA LEGENDS:

During the final round on Sunday, March 31, all tournament participants will play with a LPGA Legend. The goal of this unique opportunity is to foster fun, camaraderie and mentorship between juniors and the greats of women’s golf. To achieve this goal and allow for maximum interaction between juniors and Legends during the round, the Conditions of Competition in effect for the ANA Junior Inspiration will allow LPGA Legends to give advice to the juniors they are paired with. The format for the LPGA Legends is a best ball competition where they may record either their score, or the score of either junior in their group.

In an effort to best host the LPGA Legends, the AJGA’s Pace of Play policy will be modified to accommodate this unique situation. Please be advised that Sunday’s final round may be slower than a standard AJGA tournament round and plan travel accordingly. Final-round Pace of Play in 2018 was four hours and 24 minutes. The normal AJGA Pace of Play policy will be in affect for the first and second rounds on Saturday, March 30.

ANA INSPIRATION EXEMPTION:

As the ANA Junior Inspiration champion will be invited to participate in all tournament functions of the ANA INSPIRATION, all participants are encouraged to pack accordingly and bring dressy and business casual attire. By accepting the exemption to the ANA INSPIRATION, the ANA Junior Inspiration Champion must be prepared to participate in all ANA INSPIRATION events including an Executive dinner following the final round on March 31, the ANA INSPIRATION Champions Dinner, the ANA INSPIRATION Pro-Am Fundraising Tournament and the ANA INSPIRATION Trophy Ceremony (attendance is required of the low amateur). Please contact Tournament Director Hailey Estes at hestes@ajga.org with specific questions.

MANDATORY FUNCTIONS:

It is critical to the success of the event that all participants are fully committed to attending all tournament functions associated with the ANA Junior Inspiration. Key stakeholders from All Nippon Airways (ANA), LPGA Legends, Mission Hills Country Club and the Southern California Golf Association will be in attendance for these functions and we require the attendance of all competitors to show appreciation to those who make this event possible.

By accepting your invitation to compete, you agree to attend the Welcome Dinner on Friday, March 29 and the LPGA Legends Dinner & Pairings Reveal on Saturday, March 30. Any participant absent from one or both events may be subject to a suspension of their AJGA membership.
