An AJGA staff member will be located at the driving range monitoring players and enforcing social distancing. At the end of the player’s driving range time they may then go to the practice putting green and short game area.

Additional Practice Rounds Information

Sedgefield Country Club has a limited number of tee times blocked Sunday, June 7 from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m., for players wishing to play an additional practice round. These times are for participants only at a fee of $65 per player and NO CARTS will be available for players or parents. Players may arrange these practice rounds by contacting Tournament Director Tyler Sumner at (606) 813-0890 or tsumner@ajga.org beginning Tuesday, June 2. Players that sign up to participate in the Junior-Am can sign up for the additional practice round starting Tuesday, May 26. Pairings for the Sunday additional practice rounds will be done on a first-come, first-served basis and will be arranged upon order of booking.

Additional practice rounds are at the individual’s expense and are provided at a reduced rate by the AJGA and the host facility. Players and guests must comply with all rules & expectations at the host facility including, but not limited to, a restriction of the number of shots to be played, disrespectful behavior towards host club staff and/or members, overall time limits and limitations of non-paying guests. Failure to comply with these rules and Sedgefield Country Club rules and regulations with regards to social distancing may result in the forfeiture of your practice round and potentially disqualification from the tournament.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Sedgefield Country Club and their practice facilities are CLOSED to AJGA participants (who are not themselves members of the club) BEFORE Sunday, June 7 and players are subject to a TWO-STROKE PENALTY for failure to comply with this policy. Players who do not have additional practice round are not allowed at the host facility on Sunday, June 7. Do not call or approach Sedgefield Country Club, any club employee or member inquiring about extra practice rounds or accessing the grounds. Sedgefield Country Club is a private club and the membership and staff have been very generous in allowing the AJGA to host the 2020 AJGA Invitational at Sedgefield at this venue during our official dates. Arriving on-site the days leading up to Sunday, June 7 and attempting to call, practice, play or see the club and/or golf course will result in a TWO-STROKE PENALTY assessed to the first hole of the first round of the AJGA Invitational at Sedgefield.

AJGA CARES FOR THE COURSE: As part of the AJGA’s Code of Conduct policy players are required to fill their divots and ball marks on the golf course. Players will receive a small, lightweight sand bottle at the beginning of each event and should fill the bottles at the sand filling stations on each tee as necessary. The penalty for not following this policy is as follows:

· 1st & 2nd offense – Player receives a verbal warning
· 3rd & subsequent offenses – Player receives a one-stroke penalty

SCORECARDS: Players will be required to bring a mobile phone or a device that supports the Golf Genius application (available on iOS or Android) to use for their official scorecard and live scoring during AJGA events. Instructions on how to download and use the app can be found here. Players will be provided the GGID at the starting tee and will be assigned to mark for another player in the group. The player is responsible for providing their own mobile device as well as ensuring that it is fully charged to make it through the round.
