Mackenzie Lee of North Little Rock, Arkansas, leads the Girls Division at 3-under-par 139 after 36 holes at the Callaway Golf Texas Junior Open. Lee, who was tied for the first-round lead at even-par, took the solo lead thanks to five birdies in the second round. The rising high school junior is seeking her first AJGA win.
Texans Gabbi Bentancourt of Frisco, stands two strokes back at 1-under-par 141 while Zoe Slaughter of Houston, and Yunxuan (Michelle) Zhang of Plano, are tied at even-par 142. Zhang is the defending 2019 champion.
Daniel Kim of Mukilteo, Washington, and Wells Williams of West Point, Mississippi, remain tied for the lead at 4-under-par 138. Breaking away from the four-way tie from the first round, Kim and Williams each tallied four birdies during the second round. Williams recently finished tied for second at the 2020 AJGA Invitational at Sedgefield in early June.
Drew Kim of Pleasanton, California, trails by one shot at 3-under-par 139 thanks to a 4-under-par 67 second round two to move up the leaderboard. Four players are within two strokes of the lead at 2-under-par 140.
