Stoneybrook to host its second AJGA event

ESTERO, Fla. - The AJGA Junior at Stoneybrook will be returning to Stoneybrook Golf Club in Estero, Florida, for the second straight year. The 54-hole stroke-play tournament will be held July 13 - 16, 2021. The 78-player field competing for the AJGA Junior at Stoneybrook will be composed of a Boys and Girls Division, ages 12-19. A qualifier will be taking place at Stoneybrook Golf Club on July 12, 2021.

Players to watch

Elizabeth Beek of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, is the top-ranked Girls Division golfer in the Rolex AJGA Rankings (No. 75). Beek will be seeking her first career AJGA victory. The class of 2023 graduate has five T5 finishes in her career with the most recent T5 finish coming from the Sung Hyun Park Junior Championship in April after placing T3.

Mi Li of Beijing, China, is No. 88 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Li will be looking for another victory on the 2021 season after winning the AJGA Junior Championship presented by the Spinnaker Foundation. The class of 2025 graduate recently finished T7 at the KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational in June.

Sam Kodak of Naples, Florida, is the top-ranked Boys Division golfer in the Rolex AJGA Rankings (No. 183). The class of 2022 graduate will be on the hunt for his first-career AJGA victory. Kodak's best finish came at the Visit Tallahassee Junior Championship in June where he finished T2. Kodak is verbally committed to Florida State University.

Eoin Buckelew of Ocala, Florida, is currently No. 271 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Buckelew will also be seeking his first career AJGA victory. The class of 2021 graduate had his best finish at the Billy Horschel Junior Championship presented by Zurich where he placed T2.

Katelyn Huber of Gainesville, Florida, is No. 164 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Huber is the returning champion of the tournament in the Girls Division after shooting 4-under-par 140. Huber won in a 4-hole-playoff to capture her first AJGA victory.

About the course

Stoneybrook Golf Club, from the Champions Tees, is one of the longest golf courses in Southwest Florida. (7353 yds.) Wide fairways wind through large preserve areas and clear lakes leading to large undulating greens protected by different bunkers and rolling mounds. Also, Stoneybrook Golf Club has been fully renovated with new greens in 2010 and new tee’s and fairways over the past two years.

Qualifying Tournament
More juniors may earn entry into the AJGA Junior at Stoneybrook through an 18-hole qualifying tournament. The qualifying tournament is set for Monday, July 12 at the Stoneybrook Golf Club in Estero, Florida with a field of 78 Boys and Girls Division golfers. The top-six qualifier finishers for the boys and the top-three finishers for the girls will advance into the AJGA Junior at Stoneybrook tournament field. The full qualifier field is here.
