After the opening round of stroke play at The Saticoy Club, seeding has been finalized for the match play portion of the inaugural Team TaylorMade Cup. Team Thor’s Hiroto Ozawa of Tokyo, Japan, led the individual leaderboard after carding a 6-under-par 66, while Team Karl’s Aubrey Lee of Stevenson Ranch, California, Alan Yoda of Temecula, California, and Yilang Chen of Irvine, California, each posted even-par 72s to help Team Karl secure the No. 1 seed heading into match play. In the team competition, Team Karl combined for a 9-over-par total, earning the top seed and positioning themselves as the team to beat heading into Wednesday’s Four-Ball and Foursomes matches.
Team Amari earned the No. 2 seed with a team total of 15-over-par, while Team Thor secured the No. 3 seed with a 16-over-par total and Team Megha claimed the No. 4 seed after finishing at 25-over-par.
Individually, Team Megha’s Amy Weng of San Juan Capistrano, California, and Team Amari’s Hana McGarry of San Diego, California, finished near the top of the leaderboard after each carding a 4-under-par 68. Team Thor’s Maggie (Jiayi) Ma of Irvine, California, along with Team Megha’s Brayden Verret of Farmers Branch, Texas, and Luke An of Houston, Texas, also posted impressive rounds with 2-under-par 70s. These standout performances played a key role in helping their respective teams secure favorable positions heading into match play.
With seeding finalized and match play set to begin, the inaugural Team TaylorMade Cup is positioned for an exciting finish as teams compete for the championship title.

Heading Into Matchplay
After earning the No. 1 seed with a stroke-play team total of 9-over-par, Team Karl will face Team Megha in Wednesday’s Four-Ball and Foursomes matches. Aubrey Lee, Alan Yoda and Yilang Chen led the way for the top-seeded team after each carding even-par 72s, while Annie Chi of Placentia, California, Kevin (Boyang) He of San Ramon, California, and Caroline Gao of Milpitas, California, added key performances with 1-over-par 73s to help secure the top spot. On the opposite side, Team Megha relied on strong performances from Amy Weng of San Juan Capistrano, California, who posted a 4-under-par 68, along with Brayden Verret and Luke An, who each finished at 2-under-par, to secure the No. 4 seed. Team captains RJ Cesario and Connor Sullivan will now guide their squads through the head-to-head format as both teams battle for a spot in the championship match.
The second semifinal matchup features a closely contested battle between Team Amari and Team Thor, who finished just one stroke apart after stroke play. Hana McGarry of San Diego, California, paced the No. 2 seed with a 4-under-par 68, while Team Thor’s Hiroto Ozawa of Tokyo, Japan, delivered the lowest individual round of the day with a 6-under-par 66 to keep his team within striking distance. Contributions throughout each lineup proved critical in securing favorable positions heading into match play. With captains Andrew Morgan and Manny Girona finalizing their strategies, both teams will look to carry their momentum into what promises to be a competitive day.

Event Format
With seeding now set, match play begins on July 8 with Four-Ball matches from 7:30 to 8:54 a.m. off No. 1, followed by Foursomes matches from 1:30 to 2:40 p.m. The No. 1 seed will face the No. 4 seed, while the No. 2 seed will take on the No. 3 seed. Boys will compete against boys and girls will compete against girls in all matches, with pairings determined the day prior.
The event concludes July 9 with Singles matches from 7:30 to 9:45 a.m. off No. 1. The winners of the No. 1 vs. No. 4 and No. 2 vs. No. 3 matchups will advance to compete for the inaugural Team TaylorMade Cup title, while the remaining two teams will play for third place.
