Atlanta, GA - As an incentive to raise money for the AJGA's Leadership Links program, the top three fundraisers from spring of 2023 to August 7, 2023, got the opportunity to spend the day with Todd Lewis during the Wednesday practice round of the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club.
Todd Lewis serves as an on-site reporter for Golf Central, as well as an interviewer during Golf Channel's PGA TOUR tournament coverage. Throughout the day, the three juniors shadowed Lewis as he interviewed players leading up to the TOUR Championship.
The juniors also had the opportunity to meet some of the top 30 players on the PGA TOUR who were on-site for the event. The pros went above and beyond and not only talked with the juniors but also gave them real world advice on how to succeed.
The Leadership Links program serves to help kids impact their community and help others. Since 2009, more than 4,000 juniors have volunteered over 50,000 hours and raised more than $6 million for charity.
The top three fundraisers who got to spend the day at East Lake:
Leo Simon of Scarsdale, New York (2025)
- Simon raised over $17,000 for Filling in the Blanks fighting childhood hunger.
Beckett Jones of Naperville, Illinois (2026)
- Jones raised over $6,000 for the Chicago District Golf Association.
Mia Lombardi of Carlisle, Massachusetts (2024)
- Lombardi raised over $5,000 for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of her brother.
"The experience was 100 times better than anything I could have prepared for. Getting to hear from Todd alone was a unique experience, but then getting to meet the NBC Broadcasting crew and many players was something truly surreal."
