Qualifier Information

QUALIFIER INFORMATION

Starting Times: 7 – 11:10 a.m. Pairings will be posted on ajga.org 48 hours before the first tee time. Please arrive 5 minutes early to the tee.

Registration Time: Players are required to register before the start of their round. Players may arrive one hour and 10 minutes before their tee time to register (i.e. 6:50 a.m. for an 8 a.m. tee time). Players are not allowed to arrive at the facility any earlier than this.

Registration Location: Entry walkway at the front of the club

Driving Range opening time: To promote social distancing players will be assigned practice times on the driving range and practice putting green before the round. A players time on the driving range will start one hour prior to their tee time and depending on the tournament the player will be allotted up to 30 minutes to warm up on the driving range. An AJGA staff member will be located at the driving range monitoring players and enforcing social distancing. At the end of the player’s driving range time they may then go to the practice putting green and short game area.

Off-Site Driving Range: If players wish to have more time to warm up prior to the round or practice following play the University of Illinois Golf Club driving range located 9 miles away is available starting at 8 a.m.

Code of Conduct: The AJGA will not tolerate players or parents who do not adhere to guidelines put in place to promote social distance and player safety. We reserve the right to penalize and/or disqualify players who knowingly and willingly disregard our policies to promote social distance. Players are also responsible for the actions of their family members.

Qualifying Policy: Players must declare their intention in the scoring area to either accept a spot in the tournament field should they qualify or not. Once a player has signed his/her scorecard, the decision is final. Players who earn Performance Based Entry status will have the current season and the following season to use the Performance Stars. Players who qualify or accept a spot in the tournament do NOT forfeit Performance Based Entry status earned in the AJGA Qualifier.

Qualifying Spots: The exact number of qualifying spots will be available at qualifier registration and the starting tee. Any ties for the final qualifying spots will be determined by a scorecard playoff.

Qualifying Playoff: All ties for qualifying spots will be determined by players individual scores starting on No. 18 and continuing backwards until ties are resolved. If all individual hole scores are the same, qualifying spots will be determined by a random method.

Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather that warrants a cancellation of the AJGA Qualifier, the remaining tournament spots will be decided by Performance Based Entry.

Alternate Status: In case of tournament withdrawals, participants who fail to qualify with the next best score will be placed on an alternate list. Alternate status will be determined by players individual scores starting on No. 18 and continuing backwards until ties are resolved. If all individual hole scores are the same, the alternate status will be determined by a random method.

Swing Videos: All Junior Plus Members will have the opportunity to have their swings taped on the driving range for the College Coaches website at any time during the event. Players must contact the Tournament Director to schedule a time to film their swing video.

Clubhouse Guidelines: Please be specific with regards to what access players and parents will have in the clubhouse. For example, restrooms only and must wear masks. Golf shop access only. Scorecards: Players will be required to bring a mobile phone or a device that supports the Golf Genius application (available on iOS or Android) to use for their official scorecard and live scoring during AJGA events. Instructions on how to download and use the app can be found here . Players will be provided the GGID at the starting tee and will be assigned to mark for another player in the group. The player is responsible for providing their own mobile device as well as ensuring that it is fully charged to make it through the round.

Flagstick: The flagstick is fixed in the hole and MUST NOT be deliberately removed by any player. If a player removes the flagstick, he or she will incur a one-stroke penalty under the AJGA Code of Conduct Policy.

Tournament Information: Tournament Information will be sent to all qualifiers by the Tournament Director via e-mail and text at the conclusion of the Qualifier. For those players who qualify, the $295 Tournament entry fee will need to be paid via the Player Center prior to Tournament Registration. Qualifiers who are not AJGA members must complete the AJGA membership application online and pay the membership fee prior to the tournament.

Players and parents are encouraged to call or email the Tournament Director with any questions that they may have and avoid visiting the Tournament Headquarters.

PRACTICE ROUND INFORMATION
Dates available for play: Saturday, July 25 – Saturday, August 1
Tee Times Available for play: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Players may arrange additional practice rounds by contacting Urbana Country Club at (217) 344-8673 on an individual basis. Additional practice rounds will be $25 for players and $50 for parents, not including cart fees, and will be subject to the Urbana Country Club’s availability.
Practice Facility Times: M-F (6:30 am – dark). Please call the golf shop to confirm facility times as these are subject to change over the course of the year.
Greens Fee Rates: $25 for players and $50 for parents, does not include cart fees.

Code of Conduct: Practice rounds are at the individual’s expense and are provided at a reduced rate by the AJGA and the host facility. Players and guests must comply with all rules & expectations at the host facility including, but not limited to, a restriction of the number of shots to be played, disrespectful behavior towards host club staff and/or members, overall time limits and limitations of non-paying guests. Failure to comply with these rules and Urbana Country Club rules and regulations with regards to social distancing may result in the forfeiture of your practice round and potentially disqualification from the tournament.

Airport: Players should make reservations into Central Illinois Regional Airport at Bloomington (BMI), which is approximately 50 minutes from the hotel and the golf course.

OTHER INFORMATION
Rangefinders: The AJGA allows the usage of distance-measuring devices in all AJGA competitions. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or MEASURE OTHER CONDITIONS that might affect his/her play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4.3(1).

Spectator Golf Carts: Golf carts and spectator carts are not allowed without a Government issued Blue Permanent Handicap placard. Please see the Tournament Director on-site to receive an approved cart.

Push Carts: Push carts (non-motorized) are approved for use by all players as permitted by the host facility. Players are responsible for providing their own push carts.
