Farmingdale, NY - The Polo Golf Junior Classic heads to Bethpage Black for the 43rd edition of the only match play format event on the AJGA schedule. This year will feature 64 juniors, 32 boys and 32 girls, competing over four days to crown a match play champion.
Play is split into two divisions; Boys and Girls. Within each division there are eight pools lettered A through H. The field is ranked one to 32 based on their ranking in the Rolex AJGA Rankings as of June 22nd, 2022. A players one to 32 rank decides what pool they are placed in. Play begins on Tuesday, June 28th. Each junior will play round robin within their pool with the competitor with the most points after their three matches moving on.
The initial pool matches will be played Tuesday and Wednesday followed by tiebreaker matches Wednesday afternoon. Those advancing to the bracket portion of competition will compete in the Quarterfinals Thursday morning, and the Semifinals Thursday afternoon. The Championship and consolation matches will take place Friday.
