AJGA Staff members will be located on the course to complete equipment surveys and to answer any questions.
Practice Round Hole Locations will be available at the cart staging area. Tournament Hole Locations will be on the tournament website. All players are required to carry their own bag or use a push cart. All parents and family members are always required to stay on the cart path during the practice round. Please review the AJGA Player and Spectator Code of Conduct prior to the practice round.

ADDITIONAL PRACTICE ROUND INFORMATION

Planterra Club’s course and practice facilities are CLOSED to AJGA participants (who are not themselves members of the club) other than the date(s) and times listed below. 

Attempting to practice, play or see the golf course and practice facilities (includes contacting the club or members inquiring about alternative times to practice or play) is not permitted at any time.

Players and guests must comply with all rules & expectations at the host facility including, but not limited to, a restriction of the number of shots to be played, disrespectful behavior towards host club staff and/or members, overall time limits and limitations of non-paying guests.

Failure to comply with the host facilities rules and regulations and the AJGA Player and Spectator Code of Conduct may result in the following penalties:

1.      Forfeiture of your official practice round
2.      Two stroke penalty or disqualification from the tournament
3.      Loss of spectating privileges for the player involved

Weather Policy: If inclement weather or course conditions prevent play, additional practice rounds may be cancelled by the host facility. Rescheduling is not guaranteed and depends on course availability. Players may be offered:

  • A practice round on another available day, or
  • A refund for the unused round

Special Notes:

  • Tee times can be made up to 7 days in advance.
  • Practice facilities available one hour before your practice round tee time.
  • Practice facilities are not available after your round, or on any day that you do not have a practice round scheduled.

PRACTICE FACILITIES: Players are encouraged to arrive on-site no more than an hour and a half before their Junior-Am shotgun starting time.

POST ROUND: Limited practice will be permitted at the host facility. All players will have 60 minutes starting immediately when the player leaves the scoring area. Players may spend their allotted practice time on the practice putting green and/or the driving range. The short game area will be closed following play. Volunteers will be located at the range to keep track of each player’s time. Failure to abide by the outlined practice facility schedule may result in forfeiture of additional practice time.  

OFF-SITE RANGES: Following the round, players can pay a $10 range fee to practice at the following clubs nearby:

  • Braelinn Golf Club (3.2 miles away)
  • Flat Creek Country Club (5.1 miles away)
  • Whitewater Creek Country Club (5.6 miles away)
  • Canongate Golf Club (11.5 miles away)
  • White Oak Golf Club (11.6 miles away)

PLAYER REGISTRATION: It is recommended that players do not arrive for player registration more than one and a half hour before their starting time.

Players unable to register at this time MUST notify Tournament Director Jacob Kennedy prior to August 27 at (740) 877 – 7573.
Registration is MANDATORY.Players who fail to attend without prior approval from the tournament director may forfeit their tournament gifts. Approval to miss the Players Registration will be granted only in extreme circumstances. An individual absent from these events because they are not staying at the host hotel or have a long commute do not constitute acceptable circumstances.

CLUBHOUSE GUIDELINES: More information regarding clubhouse access will be available at a later date.

TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS: The Billy Horschel Atlanta Classic presented by Zurich Tournament Headquarters is located at MEI Corporation.

SCORECARDS: Players will be required to bring a smart phone or device with internet capabilities that supports the Golf Genius application (available on iOS or Android) to use for their official scorecard and live scoring during all AJGA events. Please make sure you have the most updated version of the app. Instructions on how to use the app can be found here . Each player will be provided with a GGID at the starting tee and will be assigned to mark for another player in the group. The player is responsible for providing their own device and ensuring it is fully charged for the round. Under Rule 3.3b(1) after each hole during the round, the marker should confirm with the player the number of strokes on that hole and enter the gross score on the scorecard. Failure to uphold their responsibility as the marker may result in a penalty or disqualification in violation of the AJGA’s Player Code of Conduct.        

AJGA CARES FOR THE COURSE: As part of the AJGA’s Code of Conduct policy players are required to fill their divots and ball marks on the golf course. Players will receive a small, lightweight sand bottle at the beginning of each event and should fill the bottles at the sand filling stations on each tee as necessary. The penalty for not following this policy is as follows:

·        1st & 2nd offense – Player receives a verbal warning
·        3rd & subsequent offenses – Player receives a one-stroke penalty

JUNIOR PLUS MEMBER SWING VIDEOS by FLIGHTSCOPE: All Junior Plus Members may record swing metrics and an HD video through FlightScope technology on the driving range at any time during the event.  Players can share videos and data in their Player Center, shared to college coaches through AJGA recruiting profiles.  Contact the Tournament Director to schedule time to film a swing video.

PUSH CARTS: Push carts (non-motorized) are approved for use by all players as permitted by the host facility. Players are responsible for providing their own push carts.

RANGEFINDERS: The AJGA allows the usage of distance-measuring devices in all AJGA competitions. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or MEASURE OTHER CONDITIONS that might affect his/her play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4.3(1).

SPECTATOR GOLF CARTS: Spectator handicap carts are not allowed without a government issued Blue Permanent Handicap placard or a doctor’s note. Please review the updated AJGA Spectator Cart Policy before arriving on-site. The Billy Horschel Atlanta Classic presented by Zurich will have a limited number of golf carts available on a first come, first served basis. There is a possibility no carts will be available. Please see the Tournament Director on-site, prior to the first round, to receive an approved cart, if available.
