Goboy jumps out to a two stroke lead in the Boys Division

CLEMMONS, N.C. -- Maria Jose Marin Negrete of Cali, Valle, Columbia and Clark Xander Goboy of Chesapeake, Virginia are the leaders of the Girls and Boys Division after one round of play. Negrete shot 1-under-par 69 for the round. Goboy shot 4-under-par 66 for the round.

Goboy has a two-stroke lead for first place. Goboy made five birdies on the day and is seeking his first career AJGA victory.

Supapon Amornchaichan of Bankok, Thailand, is currently in second place after shooting 2-under-par 68. Amornchaichan is seeking his first career AJGA victory.

Smith Summerlin of Raleigh, North Carolina, Sam Udovich of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, and Ronav Benak of Tampa, Florida are T3 after shooting even-par 70 on the day. Summerlin eagled No. 8 and all three players combined for 8 birdies during the round.


Negrete currently has a one-stroke lead for first place. She made four birdies for the round and is looking for a win in her first career AJGA event.

Macy Pate of Winston Salem, North Carolina, is currently in second place after shooting even-par 70 for the round. The No. 84 player in the AJGA Rolex Rankings had two birdies.

Alexandra Pool of Boston, Massachusetts, and Kara Lee of San Ramon, California, are both T3 after shooting 2-over-par 72. Lee and Pool combined for seven birdies.

Saia Rampersaud of Durham, North Carolina is currently in fifth place after shooting 5-over-par 75 on the first round. Rampersaud climbed into the top-five after making two birdies on the back-nine.

The second round will start at 7:30 a.m. on June 29, 2021.
