PRACTICE ROUND INFORMATION

Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club's course and practice facilities are CLOSED to AJGA participants who have been admitted to the Northern Neck Junior All-Star at Indian Creek Qualifier (who are not themselves members of the club) other than the instances below:

Players have been invited to play by a member of Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club with whom they have a pre-existing relationship. Soliciting members about tee times is NOT PERMITTED at any time and will result in forfeiture of your official practice round, or other penalty as outlined below.

Players and guests must comply with all rules & expectations at the host facility including, but not limited to, a restriction of the number of shots to be played, disrespectful behavior towards host club staff and/or members, overall time limits and limitations of non-paying guests.

Failure to comply with the host facilities rules and regulations and the AJGA Player and Spectator Code of Conduct may result in the following penalties:

  1. Forfeiture of your official practice round
  2. Two stroke penalty or disqualification from the tournament
  3. Loss of spectating privileges for the player involved

DRIVING RANGE: The driving range at Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club is irons only and has a 225 yard limit. Golf balls will be provided on the range for participants before their tee time. Listed below are two alternate public driving ranges for players to use before play.

QUALIFIER INFORMATION

Starting Times: 9 – 11 a.m. off Nos. 1 & 10 Tees. Pairings will be posted on ajga.org 48 hours prior to the first tee time. Please arrive 10 minutes early to the tee for announcements.
Registration Time: 8 – 10:30 a.m. Players are encouraged to arrive no more than one hour before their tee time to register. Players are required to register before the start of their round. Please arrive 10 minutes early to the tee.

Practice Facilities: The practice facilities will open at 8 a.m. Players are encouraged to arrive on-site no more than one hour before their posted tee time.

Qualifying Policy: Players must declare their intention in the scoring area to either accept a spot in the tournament field should they qualify or not. Once a player has signed his/her scorecard, the decision is final. Players who earn Performance Based Entry status will have the current season and the following season to use the Performance Stars. Players who qualify or accept a spot in the tournament do NOT forfeit Performance Based Entry status earned in the AJGA Qualifier.

Qualifying Spots: The exact number of qualifying spots will be posted at the qualifier registration area and mentioned in the starting announcements. Any ties for the final qualifying spots will be determined by a sudden-death playoff upon the conclusion of play.

Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather that warrants a cancellation of the AJGA Qualifier, the remaining tournament spots will be decided by Performance Based Entry.

Alternate Status: In case of tournament withdrawals, participants who fail to qualify with the next best score will be placed on an alternate list. Alternate status will be determined by the following formula:

  1. The order of finish in a playoff.
  2. Total score on Nos. 1-6 handicap holes on the course scorecard.
  3. Total score on Nos. 7-12 handicap holes on the course scorecard.
  4. Lowest individual hole score starting at No. 1 handicap hole until the tie is broken.
  5. By lot.

Junior Plus Member Swing Videos by FLIGHTSCOPE: All Junior Plus Members may record swing metrics and an HD video through FlightScope technology on the driving range at any time during the event. Players can share videos and data in their Player Center, shared to college coaches through AJGA recruiting profiles. Contact the Tournament Director to schedule time to film a swing video.

Scorecards: Players will be required to bring a smart phone or device with internet capabilities that supports the Golf Genius application (available on iOS or Android) to use for their official scorecard and live scoring during all AJGA events. Please make sure you have the most updated version of the app. Instructions on how to use the app can be found here . Each player will be provided with a GGID at the starting tee and will be assigned to mark for another player in the group. The player is responsible for providing their own device and ensuring it is fully charged for the round. Under Rule 3.3b(1) after each hole during the round, the marker should confirm with the player the number of strokes on that hole and enter the gross score on the scorecard. Failure to uphold their responsibility as the marker may result in a penalty or disqualification in violation of the AJGA’s Player Code of Conduct.

AJGA Cares for the Course: As part of the AJGA’s Code of Conduct policy players are required to fill their divots and ball marks on the golf course. Players will receive a small, lightweight sand bottle at the beginning of each event and should fill the bottles at the sand filling stations on each tee as necessary. The penalty for not following this policy is as follows:

  • 1st & 2nd offense – Player receives a verbal warning
  • 3rd & subsequent offenses – Player receives a one-stroke penalty

Tournament Information: Tournament Information will be given to all qualifiers by the Tournament Director via e-mail and text at the conclusion of the Qualifier. For those players who qualify, the $295 Tournament entry fee will be reduced by the amount the player paid for entry into the Qualifier. The remaining entry fee will need to be paid via the Players Center prior to Tournament Registration. Qualifiers who are not AJGA members must complete the AJGA membership application online and pay the membership fee prior to the tournament.

Tournament Headquarters: The Northern Neck Junior All-Star at Indian Creek Tournament Headquarters is located in the main clubhouse.

AJGA Push Carts: Push carts (non-motorized) are approved for use by all players as permitted by the host facility. Players are responsible for providing their own push carts.

Rangefinders: The AJGA allows the usage of distance-measuring devices in all AJGA competitions. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or MEASURE OTHER CONDITIONS that might affect his/her play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4.3(1).

Spectator Golf Carts: Golf carts and spectator carts are not allowed without a Government issued Blue Permanent Handicap placard. Please see the Tournament Director on-site to receive an approved cart.
