2019 AJGA Junior at Saddlebrook Tournament Information

Private Housing: Please contact Tournament Director Samantha Joe at (404) 788-1121 or sjoe@ajga.org if you need or are seeking more information on private housing. This option is first come, first served, and is not guaranteed, so please contact the tournament director as soon as possible.

In order to fully process your request for private housing, you will be sent information via email to complete. The AJGA will be facilitating background checks of all possible housing options as a way to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere during the event. These checks come with a $50 non-refundable, administrative fee. Upon your request for private housing, the AJGA will bear the expense of the check up-front, and thus, the fee is non-refundable as the process cannot be reversed or withdrawn.

PRACTICE ROUND:

An AJGA Staff member will be located on the practice facilities with hole locations and sand bottles. All players are required to carry their own bag or use a push cart. Please note that the AJGA Qualifier for the AJGA Junior at Saddlebrook on Friday, May 24, at 8 a.m. will take precedence over the practice round. AJGA staff will have updates on-site regarding any delay to the practice round start time.

Additional Practice Rounds Information

Players may arrange additional practice rounds by contacting Saddlebrook Resort at(813) 973-1111 on an individual basis. Additional practice rounds cost $35 per junior and $50 per adult. During the Practice Round spectator carts are subject to availability at $25 each.

DRIVING RANGE AVAILABILITY:

Balls: Complimentary before play/$5 per bag following play
Note: The driving range is on property but located away from the clubhouse, No. 1, and No. 10. We will have shuttles between the range and Nos. 1 and 10, but keep this in mind while planning for your tee time.While there will be shuttles, it will be the player’s responsibility to make sure they are at their tee time on time.

Players unable to register at this time MUST notify Tournament Director Samantha Joe at (404) 788-1121. Both events are mandatory. Players who fail to attend either or both of these functions without prior approval from the tournament director may forfeit their tournament gifts. Approval to miss Players Registration and Players Meeting will be granted only in extreme circumstances. An individual absent from these events because they are not staying at the host hotel, are staying in private housing for the week, or have a long commute do not constitute acceptable circumstances.

Note: Players assume the entire risk if they call any other number or individual and receive an incorrect starting time.

A tie for the championship will be decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. As inclement weather may delay play, please make your departing flight as late as possible. The AJGA will play until dark if necessary to complete the tournament. Should the player need to withdraw for travel related reasons please understand the withdrawal will be classified as questionable.

IMPORTANT COURSE NOTES:

AJGA CARES FOR THE COURSE:

At all events players will receive a small sand bottle prior to the round to use throughout the day to fill divots on the course. Sand-filling stations will be set up around the course for players to use during their round. The driving range will be set up with sand for players to use following their practice session before and after the round.

JUNIOR PLUS MEMBER SWING VIDEOS:

All Junior Plus Members will have the opportunity to have their swings taped on the driving range for the College Coaches website at any time during the event. Players must see the Tournament Director to schedule a time to film their swing video. If you are unsure of your membership status, a list is available in tournament headquarters.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

All AJGA participants are expected to abide by the AJGA Code of Conduct. Violations of the Code of Conduct will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct. Proper attire is required at all times and failure to comply may result in disqualification. Click here to view the AJGA’s Code of Conduct .

PACE OF PLAY:

All AJGA participants are expected to abide by the AJGA Pace of Play policy. Pace of play will be reviewed with all players during the Players Meeting, the Practice Round and on the starting tees before each round. Click here to review the AJGA Pace of Play Policy.

OTHER INFORMATION:

The condition of competition requiring a player’s clubs conform to the groove and punch mark specifications as detailed in the Rules of Golf Effective January 2019 is IN effect for AJGA competitions. To determine if a club or set of clubs conforms to the new specifications, players should first search the Informational Club Database (Grooves) which is available at http://www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/index.asp

  • Golf carts and spectator carts are not allowed without a Government issued Blue Permanent Handicap placard. Please see the Tournament Director on-site to receive an approved cart.
  • Caddies are not permitted in AJGA tournament play.
  • Push carts (non-motorized) are approved for use by all players as permitted by the host facility. Players are responsible for providing their own push carts.

NO SHOW POLICY:

If you find that you cannot compete in this event, you must withdraw from the event online through the Player Center. If the online withdrawal option is not available, you must speak directly with the tournament director. Complete withdrawal procedures prior to the start of an event are available at ajga.org. This allows the AJGA to replace you with an alternate. If you cannot compete and do not withdraw properly, you are considered a "no show," and the following action may be taken:

  1. If you have already been accepted for another event, you may be notified of your disqualification from that event.
  2. If you have not been accepted in another event at this time, your next application may not be considered.
  3. If this offense is repeated, you may not be allowed to play in any more events for the remainder of the year.
