The
AJGA is an equal opportunity employer whose main source
of full-time employees comes through its internship
program (travel and in-house). These interns go through
an extensive background check, are well trained in event
management and tournament communications and are given a
major role in the execution of the AJGA’s tournament
schedule. At summer’s end, the AJGA will fill job
vacancies by first offering full-time employment to those
interns who demonstrated a great work ethic, were consistently
punctual, always presented themselves in a professional
manner, understood team dynamics and exhibited leadership
potential. This hiring practice will ensure the AJGA continues
to rejuvenate its employee base with proven individuals
ready and willing to take ownership in the AJGA.
The
AJGA is the world’s leading organization in the professional
development of the next generation of golf industry leaders.
The AJGA provides a dynamic, demanding and achievement-oriented
culture. The AJGA seeks to attract, identify and hire a
diverse group of college students and recent college graduates
who are team-oriented, driven, passionate, selfless, goal-oriented,
professional and clean-cut.
TRAINING
PHILOSOPHY
Once
the AJGA selects the finest group of future golf industry
leaders, the AJGA will dedicate and devote itself to providing
an extensive week-long training session for the intern class.
Each department will share a role in providing the tools
for them to succeed and represent the AJGA while on the
road conducting tournaments. It is essential to provide
them the foundation and knowledge in order to efficiently
represent the AJGA.
For
the newly hired full-time employees, a New Hire Celebration
will be held that will also give them an in-depth review
of the Association, each department and its respective policies.
THE
WORKPLACE
The
AJGA is a fun, safe, healthy, drug-free and high-energy
work environment; an environment where employees will look
forward to coming to work on a daily basis. The AJGA Leadership
is open-minded to constructive criticism on ways to improve
the workplace or the overall activities of the AJGA. There
is an open-door policy among the AJGA Leadership whereby
all employees should feel welcome in discussing any issue.
THE
PURPOSE
The
AJGA is a service organization dedicated to fulfilling a
clearly defined mission. Through its activities, tournaments
and programs, the AJGA will provide the highest level of
service to its junior members and their parents, the college
coaches who depend on AJGA information for recruitment,
the generous sponsors who support its efforts, the Board
of Directors who volunteer their time and effort, and its
employees who seek a challenging career.
